Big words from Michael “shroud” Grzesiek as he claims Riot Games’ highly anticipated first-person shooter VALORANT is “one of the greatest games” he’s ever played.
shroud is one of the most popular FPS players in the world, referred to as the human aimbot, shroud currently streams on Mixer after being signed to the platform exclusively from Twitch. With a history as a profession Counter-Strike player and proven ability across almost any FPS he touches, people take shroud’s opinion pretty strongly.
Content creators, pro players from other titles, and more got the chance to play the game during an event hosted by Riot from March 27th to 29th and that included shroud.
Initially not saying much, the 25-year-old streamer later gave VALORANT some pretty intense praise during one of his Mixer streams.
“It’s a f**king bummer though, I feel like I was already kind of bored and I didn’t know what to play… But after playing Valorant, it makes it all worse,” he said. “Because now I’m sitting here and I’m like ‘dude, I just played a f**king gem’ and now I’ve got to go back to trash.”
While he didn’t provide much detail, apparently due to an agreement with Riot, he did say “I can tell you that it’s one of the greatest games I’ve played in a very, very, very long time,” and that’s a pretty big deal.
The only thing that diminishes this, is of course that this isn’t the first time we’ve heard top streamers and players praise a game only to later leave it or attack it. Apex Legends springs to mind as a game many claimed to be “the one” prior to leaving it after just weeks or months.
Regardless, many PC player’s excitement has only grown with the bold claims by shroud and they’ll be able to start earning a chance to play in the closed beta tomorrow.
