Esports Charts released viewership numbers for competitive and non-competitive categories on Twitch streaming platform for the third quarter of 2020 and although Dota 2 is far from being one of the most popular games by many of the metrics used, it took the first place in terms of audience engagement.

While Dota 2 is at top of the charts in terms of engagements, followed by CS:GO with just two points behind, in terms of most watched games, the non-competitive ones emerged as the most popular. The Just Chatting Twitch category is the most watched through the third quarter of 2020, with 500 million hours watched, which is 130% higher than League of Legends, on the second position with 394 million hours watched.
Along with Just Chatting, there are five non-competitive games in the top 10 of the most watched categories on Twitch, with Among Us, Fall Guys, Grand Theft Auto V and Minecraft at the top of the charts.
According to Esports Charts, more than 10 million unique viewers tuned in for online/offline tournaments, which is around 10% of all people who spent time watching broadcasts.
League of Legeneds is the second most watched Twitch category with 794,000 peak viewers and 11.4 million unique viewers, while Dota 2 is the most popular category in the CIS region, with more than every third viewer occasionally watching this game.
