Team Aster announced a last minute stand-in for OGA Dota PIT Season 4 as their mid lane player, Liu “DD” Yuhao will be unable to fight alongside his team due to personal issues.
Team Sirius mid lane player, Yuan “Phoenix” Cewei will stand in for DD starting today, December 3, when Team Aster will make their tournament debut against PSG.LGD. Runners up at the recently concluded China Dota2 Pro Cup Season 2, Aster managed last month to take down PSG.LGD, securing a playoff upper bracket start. DD was one of the key factors in Aster’s incredible run at China Dota2 Pro Cup, where they claimed victories over the best teams of the moment in the region. Along with PSG.LGD, Vici Gaming, EHOME and even Elephant fell victim at the hands of Aster, who made it to the grand finals of that tournament via upper bracket. But once Elephant came back from the lower bracket, they took full revenge, slaying Aster 3-0 to claim the title.
OGA Dota PIT Season 4 was bound to bring Aster a second chance at taking a tournament title, but the task might have just become tougher without DD.
“We are sorry to inform you that due to personal reasons, Liu “DD” Yuhao has gone back home to deal with relevant personal affairs, and he won’t be able to play at OGA Dota PIT Season 4: China. We expect him to come back soon, and we hope that you all understand him and continue to support him,” Team Aster posted on their Weibo page, just ahead of their opening series at OGA Dota PIT.
Aster are seeded in Group B along with Elephant, PSG.LGD and Invictus Gaming and will need a top three finish to make it to the playoffs. The group play will unfold December 3-6 in single Round Robin format, while the playoffs are scheduled to take place December 7-12 in a double elimination format.
