VP.Prodigy are going to replace Virtus. pro next week in the Europe and CIS division of OGA Dota PIT Online Season 2, and before the squad returns to action after more than a month of a break, Dmitry “DM” Dorokhin spoke to RuHub and gave a brief insight into VP.P’s morale going up against some of the top European teams.
“This team did not exist before the pandemic. In fact, we started playing precisely when the coronavirus pandemic hit and I can’t say that anything has changed for us during this time. We just play in a friendly atmosphere, we train, we look to innovate something, we study the other teams, we test things. In terms of anxiety or nerves, there are no such things with us.
As for the expectation – yes, we are definitely all looking forward to the LAN tournaments, because that’s where everyone is going to play at a very high level. If we are going to ever play on a LAN, we will probably play against the likes of Evil Geniuses, Team Secret, Liquid, on International level. It’s always more interesting to play live. Perhaps some of us will be nervous, but it will be a great experience. I love LAN tournaments. “
Unfortunately, there is not even a slight indication for when the Dota 2 professional scene can return to a LAN tournament schedule. Until the world is once again safe for the teams to play live, in front of their fans, the online leagues will continue to unfold and the very next one for Europe and CIS is set to start on the 27th of July.
OGA Dota PIT Season 2: Europe CIS will feature eight teams entering the battle for the title and a share of the $170,000 in a double elimination bracket. VP.Prodigy will have the chance to play against their fellow CIS representatives Natus Vincere and FlyToMoon, which they most likely know very well, but will also have the opportunity to test themselves against OG, Team Nigma, Ninjas in Pyjamas, Alliance and Vikin.gg.
