The group play of Beyond Epic, China division is done and dusted. Four teams ended their tournament run in the group stage and four others are now in the contention for the title.

Vici Gaming were the last to survive the Group B GSL format after taking down 2-1 Invictus Gaming in the last decider series of the day. Much like their region main rivals, PSG.LGD, who made it to the playoffs stage with a reverse sweep over CDEC Gaming, Vici started on the wrong foot against iG, but brought it home in the second and third game of the series. VG lost the first game despite holding a small gold lead for 30 minutes. They went with a draft focused on objectives taken with Dragon Knight and Beastmaster, both perfectly suited for taking down towers fast, but lacked in mobility and had no real answer for iG’s Storm Spirit teamfight control with Aghanim’s Scepter and a lucky Spell Prism neutrals drop.

After losing game one with a pushed oriented draft, VG pressured iG with an Anti-Mage played through the offlane to push the series to a game three where they reverted to the push strategy, but with a Lycan in the frontline for Zhang “Eurus” Chengjun.

Beyond Epic: China playoff stage will kick off tomorrow, June 26, with all four teams that made it this far in the competition, starting in the upper bracket. Vici Gaming will open the day at 08:00 CESt/14:00/CST battling against Sparking Arrow Gaming for a spot into the finals, followed by PSG.LGD taking on Royal Never Give Up.
