Week 3 of the Southeast Asia Dota Pro Circuit League came to an end today with Neon Esports taking on Execration, followed by TNC Predator going up against T1.
Neon were unbeaten going into their series today, but their opponents, Execration, had already shown that they were not beyond causing massive upsets, although being at the bottom of the standings – taking down TNC in Week 1 of the SEA DPC League. After a strong first game from Neon, XctN responded with a fantastic game two, showing the strength of their roster and looking to take down another top team. Although they did tie the series, the deciding game was a complete stomping from Neon, who took only 22-minutes to secure a 2-1 win and retain their spot atop the standings.
Next up was a gigantic series between a dangerous looking T1 and a TNC who were struggling to find their footing in the SEA DPC League. Having lost to both XctN and Neon, having only a victory over Vice Esports, TNC were battling to breach the top four of the standings, while T1’s victory over BOOM Esports just a few days ago pushed them into third place for the time being. The two teams gave us an epic show in game one with a back-and-forth brawl, Divine Rapiers and intense teamfights. When the dust settled, after over an hour, it was TNC who came out on top, gaining a brief lead in the series.
But game two was a T1 show as they managed to take control early on and never allowed TNC to find their way back into game, tying the series at 1-1 and setting up a decisive game three. Although Phantom Assassin had been picked by the losing team twice already, T1 seemed to hope for a better performance from the hero, picking it up again in the final game. While T1 has a blistering start to the game, TNC found ways to constantly keep themselves in contention – with both teams fighting back-and-forth for over an hour once again.
Unfortunately for T1, the PA failed them once more as Kim “Gabbi” Villafuerte’s Terrorblade was far too much to deal with. TNC’s late game presence proved to be perfect as they completed an amazing 2-1 victory over T1. The win pushes TNC into third place, while T1 fall down one spot into fourth. For TNC, this is a major boost considering their previous performances and they’ll have their next series against BOOM on February 10th, while T1 will have some time to plan their next move before taking on XctN on February 13th.
