Earlier this year we saw Execration, the Philippines Dota 2 squad, release Don Carlo “BDz” Manalo from their roster, which was followed by a few other changes. Today the team release more players but fill their roster for future events.
In October of this year, a little over a month ago, Execration would release both Jinn Marrey “Palos” P. Lamatao and BDz from their roster, replacing them with some temporary stand-ins – and Ryan Jay “Raging Potato” Qui’s move to the position 4 support role. While the squad have not been a part of many of the bigger Southeast Asia events, they have been struggling to really find any form since their second place finish at the OMEGA League: Asia Divine Division event back in August. However, the team have now welcomed the return of BDz and one other to their roster, while saying goodbye to Raging Potato.
According to the post made via the team’s Twitter account, the team will be parting ways with their captain, Raging Potato, while also replacing the two stand-in players. Yuri Dave “Yowe” Pacaña will be joining the team in the position 1 role, with BDz taking over the position 4 role and an unknown player named “Elo” joining on a trial basis as the offlaner. While little is known of Elo, both Yowe and BDz have been a part of the SEA Dota 2 scene for the past three or four years and should bring some solidity to the roster.
While XctN do not have any events lined up in the near future, it will be interesting to see if these changes can possibly push them upwards to maybe take on the likes of Neon Esports, Motivate.Trust Gaming, BOOM Esports and TNC Predator in the coming months.
