FunPlus Phoenix may not be joining CSGO after all the according to a report out of HLTV/1pv.fr. In what many had thought was a done deal, FunPlus Phoenix and Heroic negotiations are falling apart as Patrick “es3tag” Hansen is nearing a swap to the Astralis camp.

This leaves fans scratching their heads as both parties had officially announced the deal previously and now it appears it was never set in stone. According to the report from 1pv, “FPX didn’t pay the 2 millions requested to join Flashpoint but would have had the opportunity to join for a year to watch and pay if they like what they see.”

This move comes after a string of not so great results from the Danish side. This doesn’t mean someone is on their way out, however, as it seems the players themselves asked for this to come to be. The team will run with a substitute position where Danny “zonic” Sørensen, the team’s coach, will be deciding which five to field at any given time.

This, of course, leads to many other questions as to whether between map changes are possible, whether tournament organizers will allow it, etc.

Should this move come to fruition, Astralis will have the following six-man roster:

-Lukas “gla1ve” Rossander
-Nicolai “device” Reedtz
-Peter “dupreeh” Rasmussen
-Andreas “Xyp9x” Højsleth
-Emil “Magisk” Reif
-Patrick “es3tag” Hansen
