BLAST has announced its decision to cut the BLAST Spring Showdown Americas to just eight teams alongside the newly invited teams. The European edition will still continue with 10 teams participating.

Three more organizations have joined the ranks of the BLAST Spring Showdown Europe with MAD Lions, mousesports, and fnatic joining the fray. BLAST received a lot of negative feedback after electing to not bring in the latter two organizations as partnered teams for the 2020 season.

The event which features three of the top five teams in the world in Europe now only awaits the winners of the CIS Cup and RTP Arena Cup to round out the team list.

-RTP Arena Cup winner

The Americas event has seen Gen.G, Cloud9, FURIA, Chaos, and Triumph added to the list which previously had Evil Geniuses, 100 Thieves, and MIBR. The team list for the region is now complete.

The event will kick off as a best-of-one round-robin group stage that will see only the bottom team in each group eliminated. The remaining teams will move into the playoffs seeded based on their group stage performance.
